What is a Quaker Funeral ?
It takes the form of a Quaker Meeting for Worship. This is based on silent worship and contemplation. Those who feel moved to speak may stand and break the silence to do so. The Meeting for Worship is held in a Quaker Meeting House. A coffin is not present. This form of celebrating and remembering a life could be adapted for non-Quakers in different settings with sensitive guidance.
