A ceremony for a pet ? Should pets have ceremonies ?

A pet, such as a dog, can live as a part of a family for many years. My dog, a dachshund / yorkie cross was part of our lives for almost 14 years. Our life with her was the only life that she knew and she has left her mark on us. So yes, if it helps to adjust to a life without this faithful friend, why not ?
