A Funeral Hymn

The choice of hymns, or pieces of music, during a funeral ceremony are for you to decide. The following is music that is sometimes played. ‘Con-Te-Partiro’ (Time to say goodbye) Andrea Bocelli. ‘Let it Be’ The Beatles. ‘What a Wonderful World’ Louis Armstrong, amongst others.

The American Quaker poet John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892) wrote the poem ‘The Brewing of Soma’. From this poem, some words were taken for the Hymn- ‘Dear Lord and Father of Mankind.’ The hymn ends ‘o still small voice of calm,’ these words repeated. A popular hymn and one suited to a funeral.
